Nursery
Introduction
The Music House Nursery is a 380 square metre bright building with a more than 1000 square metre fenced garden, plus its own closed parking lot which awaits families with small children of nursery and preschool age (from 20 months to 3-4 years). The nursery is ideal for families who live in the Buda Hills and who would like their children to be cared for in a green and quiet environment, along with a music-centred educational programme. We offer small group sizes equipped with age-appropriate games and development tools, in a building with a separate music room and gym, book corner and a well-equipped playground. Our Hungarian and foreign teachers work in close co-operation with parents to develop confident and independent children. Music House provides nutritious meals four times a day, prepared daily by our dedicated kitchen staff.
It is important for us to have good communication and information exchange between the nursery’s management, teachers and parents / families. In addition, it is possible to organise meetings during the year, if need be, with teachers and management.
The nursery is open every weekday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Activities
In addition to our music-based curriculum, Music House offers a strong emphasis on the development of all key individual skills including gross motor skills, fine motor skills, speech, creativity, imagination, and socialisation during free play. We also offer a varied programme, as we offer unique and exciting activities based on regularly changing topics.
As the children are immersed in an international language all day, every day, they develop their skills in a natural and fun way, comparable to the acquisition of a mother tongue. We actively encourage the children to play and to learn language in a fun and enriching way. For this intensive in-depth approach, the presence of English-speaking nursery teachers is essential, who consistently use the language in the daily life of the nursery including with the following subjects:
- Logical Development,
- Music,
- Physical Education / Baby Gym
- Arts & Crafts,
- Drama & Puppetry,
- Children’s Yoga.
Special events, activities & programmes:
- A ‘Friday Funday’ each Friday filled with exciting activities,
- Special guests who are regularly invited to provide special programmes,
- Scientific experiments,
- Trips to different playgrounds,
- Halloween & carnival,
- Baking & cooking,
- Puppet theatre,
- Sports Day.
Settling in
The settling-in period is a key part of the nursery experience. Above all, during settling-in we approach the children with patience and understanding as well as special attention, when needed. We aim for our students to have a strong and positive emotional attachment to Music House and a sense of security is important for children so that there is no negative setback later on. It is key for us that the process is facilitated by caring educators and teachers with the active involvement of parents as well as mutual co-operation.
Our goal is to make the institution a friendly and inviting place for young children, where they can quickly fit in and pick up the rhythm of life and daily routines. We also strive for them to make new friends, receive an education and to feel safe. Of course, we also ensure that parents feel confident leaving their child at the nursery and that they are in safe and caring environment.
There is continuous communication between teachers and parents during the settling period which helps the child to become habituated step-by-step. We believe that it is important to observe the child’s behaviour and to keep in mind that this process is different for each child and that there are different stages of settling. Most children settle easily and without issue, although some can take a little longer, in which case we provide extra support.
Community and special events
In addition to the above regular programmes during the year, we value our family atmosphere as we are a relatively small institution with small groups and many siblings. We also value the direct relationships between teachers and families as well as our co-operation with international institutions and schools. At Music House, we also hold regular private events aimed at our attending families.
The following programmes are examples of special events involving our families. These include events which our students directly take part in as a way to enrich their learning experience and grow their self-confidence:
- Christmas Show,
- Parents’ Day,
- Picnic with families,
- End-of-year show with graduation programmes.
